Obituary: Lois Holley

Lois Holley, 84, of Cave City passed away Monday, September 2, 2024. She was born May 25, 1940, in Batesville, AR, to Harold and Belah Platt. She retired from General Tire (GTX), where she was a forklift driver for forty-plus years. Lois loved to crochet and bake her famous pumpkin rolls. Her favorite colors were pink and yellow and she loved all her grandbabies and spending time with them. She attended and was a member of Foothills Cowboy Church in Batesville, AR.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Holley; one brother, Finis Platt; and twin great-great-granddaughters, Kami and Kori Smith.

Survivors include her daughter, Rosia Carter (and husband, Edward) of Cave City; son, James Anderson (and wife, Melissa) of Concord; one grandson, Kenny Edwardson; three granddaughters, Jamie Carter, Melisa Carter, and Shannon Hooker (and husband, Timmy) all of Cave City; five great-granddaughters, Haley Carter, Dezirae Carter, Miley Cater, Katielynn Jennings, and Tara Hooker all of Cave City; two great-great-granddaughters, Everliegh and Ivy; plus lots of bonus grandbabies; and a host of other relatives and friends.

There will be a visitation held at Willis Funeral Service Chapel on Friday, September 6, 2024, from 12 PM until 2 PM. The funeral service, officiated by Glen McKay, will begin at 2 PM. Interment will follow at Kyler Cemetery in Southside, AR. Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Terence Carter, Gary Tate, Robert Davis, BJ Clark, Charley Clinton, Jerry Smith, and Leonard Allen. Honorary pallbearers are Joe Young and Zack King.
