Political announcement

Sandy Maier, Candidate Senate District 22
Why I’m Running for Office

I am running for the Senate because Arkansans need choices! They need someone who will represent their best interests in the Capitol. There needs to be transparency in government, and the government needs to be held accountable for its decisions.

  • Abortion Rights – Women have the right to make their own healthcare decisions, not the government. They shouldn’t have to leave their home states to get the healthcare they seek or need. Victims of sexual crimes should have these same rights.
  • Education – Every child has the right to a good education. Public funds need to stay in our public schools and all schools must be held the same educational standards.
  • Elections – More needs to be done to ensure the integrity of elections in Arkansas. More can be done to ensure that voters are informed on important ballot issues, allowing them to make more informed decisions at the polling place.
  • LGBTQ+ – Our LGBTQ+ community needs to be provided with dignity and respect, and healthcare and mental health services provided to every other citizen. Parents of transgender children should be the ones making those decisions for their children NOT the government.
  • Public Safety – I am the survivor of a workplace shooting. Every state needs a red flag law. No child should EVER have to go to school and practice active shooter drills. No one should ever fear being in a large crowd.
