Obituary: Wilma J. Reynolds Rawlings

Wilma J. Reynolds Rawlings of Cave City passed away on Sunday, September 8, 2024, in Batesville at the age of 84 years old. She was born August 28, 1940, in Knob Creek, Arkansas to Delbert and Ednas Reynolds.

Wilma graduated from Melbourne High School in 1957 as class valedictorian. She worked many years for BMC, AeroJet, and General Tire purchasing dept. Wilma’s favorite things were visiting with family and friends, cooking, reading, and animals. She was a great caregiver to many people.

She was preceded in death by her parents and son-in-law Birdie Rogers, and brother, Wade Reynolds.

Wilma is survived by daughters, Carol Rogers of Cave City, and Crystal McMichael (Robert) of Tyler, Texas, sisters Joyce King of Southside, and Linda Edwards (Pete) of Melbourne; three grandchildren, Heath McMichael, Lisa Butler, Beth Qualls, along with seven great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and life-long friends Carolyn Johnson and Mary Jane McSpadden, along with a host of friends and family.

Visitation will be held Thursday, September 12 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Qualls Funeral Chapel in Cave City.

The family will have a private burial.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Independence County Humane Society or St. Judes Children’s Hospital.
