Obituary: Marian Beatrice (Watkins) Prince

Marian Beatrice (Watkins) Prince of Grubbs, Arkansas, departed this life on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at the age of 81. She was born in Poinsett County on February 28, 1943, the daughter of Otha and Altie Edith Magnolia (Sutherland) Watkins.

Mrs. Prince was a homemaker for many years and a Jesus Is Lord Family Worship Center member. She enjoyed fishing and shopping at yard sales. Mrs. Prince loved spending her time outside, watching her hummingbirds, and tending to her flower beds. Her greatest joy came from her family and getting together with them.

Mrs. Prince is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Adams; one son, Ricky Mahan; one daughter, Diane Taylor; two brothers, James Watkins and A.Z. Caughlin; and sister, Mattie Lawrence.

She is survived by her son, Edward Mahan, Sr. and wife, Janet, of Grubbs; her daughter, Anita Moss and husband, Cletus, of Thida; three sisters, Faye Shannon of Van Buren, Bonnie Titus and husband, David, of Black Rock; and Glenda Moffitt and husband, Wiley, of Jackson, Mississippi; seven grandchildren, Ed Mahan, Jr. and wife, Shannon, Becky Adams and husband, Matt, Kristy Smith and husband, Greg, Cassee Shackelford and Josh, Ashton Moss, Brent Huckabee and Amanda, and Meagan Goodman and Shane; many great-great grandchildren and great-great-great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and special companion of 25 years, Edward Adams, of Grubbs.

Friends may visit the funeral home on Saturday, September 14, 2024, beginning at 12:30 p.m. Funeral services will follow at Jackson’s Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 p.m., with Brother Leon Tidwell and Sister Sue Middleton officiating. The interment will be in Ballews Chapel Cemetery.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Dennie Brownfield, James Jones, Henry Brownfield, Matt Adams, Chucky Stallnacker, Ricky Benskin, Michael Tidwell, and Clay London. The honorary pallbearer is Junior Porter.
