Local non-profit organization Family Violence Prevention (FVP) has scheduled its annual “Karaoke for a Cause” for Saturday, Oct. 12, at The Loft on Main Street in Batesville. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m., and the karaoke show will kick off at 6 p.m.

This year’s event promises to be a lively evening filled with music, fun, and meaningful support for FVP’s crucial programs. Local performers will take the stage to sing their favorite karaoke hits, creating a vibrant and entertaining atmosphere for a great cause.

The goal of the event is to raise vital funds for Family Violence Prevention’s initiatives, including maintaining their women’s and men’s shelters, operating a community resale shop, and supporting a rape crisis outreach center. By attending “Karaoke for a Cause,” participants will help make a difference in the lives of individuals affected by domestic violence, providing them with a safe environment and essential resources.

Tickets are $40 per person and can be purchased online here or at Zeffy.com by searching “FVP Karaoke for a Cause.” The ticket price includes catered food, beverages, and the opportunity to enjoy the musical performances while supporting a worthy cause. Attendees are encouraged to purchase their tickets early, as the event is expected to sell out. Participants in the karaoke show will also have the unique chance to perform up to two songs, adding to the evening’s entertainment.

“We are grateful to our community for their continued support of this important cause,” said Kassie Meharg, a Family Violence Prevention Board of Directors member and the event’s fundraising chair. “Every year, ‘Karaoke for a Cause’ not only brings people together for a fun night but also helps raise awareness and crucial funds for the survivors in our community. It’s a celebration of strength, resilience, and the power of coming together to make a difference.”

All ticket holders are invited to participate, enjoying the performances and contributing to the fight against family violence. This inclusive event aligns with FVP’s commitment to raising awareness and fostering community support for survivors.
