An Oklahoma man is in custody after authorities in Arkansas discovered the body of a missing Van Buren County man earlier this month.

The Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office said Friday that the body of William Ward (pictured above, right), 34, was found on Sept. 5 in Damascus. Ward had been reported missing on March 23, 2023.

According to the sheriff’s office, investigators arrested Bobby Glover (left), 58, of Newalla, Okla., on Sept. 11, 2024, in connection with the homicide. The arrest was made with assistance from the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation, the Cleveland County (Okla.) Sheriff’s Office, the 22nd Judicial District Attorney Task Force of Oklahoma, Arkansas State Police, and the 20th Judicial Drug Task Force of Arkansas.

The sheriff’s office also thanked the FBI, Arkansas Tech University Geology Department, and Arkansas State Police for their help in recovering Ward’s body.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information related to the case is asked to contact Lt. Investigator Chasta Harrison.
