Obituary: Billy S. “Billy Bob” Ritter

Mr. Billy S. Ritter of Newark, Arkansas, departed this life Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at the age of 56. He was born September 11, 1968, the son of Alonzo and Carolyn (Combs) Ritter.

Mr. Ritter, who was lovingly known as “Billy Bob” was a graduate of Grubbs High School. He spent many years working as a farmhand for B&G Farms. Earlier in the year, he obtained his commercial driver’s license and began driving a truck for Poinsett Rice & Grain. Mr. Ritter was a member of the Church of Christ.

Mr. Ritter enjoyed working on and riding motorcycles and 4-wheelers. If he could make something go fast, he was all about it. His greatest joy came from riding motorcycles with his sons. Mr. Ritter also liked watching television, especially wrestling. He will be remembered for his personality and for having never met a stranger.

Mr. Ritter was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Sue (Morris) Ritter, of the home; two sons, Billy Ritter, Jr. and wife, Sarah, of Newport and James Ritter and Keri Hufford of Pocahontas; a brother, Brian Ritter and Jenn, of Fisher; his uncle, Stan Combs, of Huntington Beach; sisters-in-law, Kathleen Turner of Tuckerman and Teresa Keller of Fisher; brothers-in-law, Roger Morris and wife, Mary Jo, of Pumpkin Bend, Stanford Morris of Newark, John Morris of Roseville, Michigan, and James Morris of Cave City; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Friends may visit at the funeral home Sunday, September 15, 2024, beginning at 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, September 16, 2024, at Jackson’s Newport Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Roger Morris officiating. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Jimmy Morris, Alex Morris, Jake Fultner, Justin Winkle, John Morris, and James Cameron. Honorary pallbearers are his co-workers at Poinsett Rice & Grain and everyone at B&G Agri.
