The Ozark Foothills Literacy Project will host the Family Fairytale Festival, a free family literacy event, on Sunday, Sept. 29, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Main Street Pocket Park in downtown Batesville.
The festival will feature games, interactive story times, and hands-on activities to promote literacy and a love of reading for all ages. Free books will be distributed to participants, and local organizations will provide resources for adult family members.
“We want to create a magical day for families that not only celebrates stories but also strengthens literacy skills,” said Dorianne Dias, executive director of the Ozark Foothills Literacy Project. “This festival is all about making reading accessible, fun, and a central part of family life.”
The event will include live storytelling, literacy-themed games, crafts, snacks, and information from community partners.
