Obituary: Jose Salas Dela Cruz & Agueda Carrillo Mata

Jose Salas Dela Cruz, 54, of Batesville passed away on September 30, 2024, in Little Rock. He was born July 8, 1970 at Xaltiangis, Mexico to Andres Salas and Ignacia Sandez. He was a jewelry maker and a member of St. Mary’s.

He enjoyed cooking, spending time with family, and making jewelry.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother; Candelario Mario Salas, and nephew Ulises Salas.

Agueda Carrillo Mata, 53, of Batesville passed away on September 29, 2024, in Lonoke. She was born February 3, 1971, at Xaltiangis, Mexico to Odorico Carrillo and Crisantema Mata. She was a housewife and a member of St. Mary’s.

She enjoyed cooking and spending time with family, especially the grandkids.

She was preceded in death by her father and one brother, Anibal Carrillo.

Their survivors include three sons; Jose Enrique Salas, Miguel Salas, and Maximilianos Salas, one daughter; Ambar Salas, one daughter-in-law; Jarumit Lugo, eight grandchildren; Jose Salas, Owen, Alaia, Keisi, Izumi, America, Karim Salas and Milagros Cuc, several nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will begin Saturday, October 5 from 12:00 noon to 6:00 p.m. in the Batesville Funeral Home Chapel.

Funeral services will be Saturday, October 12 at 10:00 a.m. at Saint Mary’s Church in Batesville with Father Jon Miskin officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Cushman.

Pallbearers will be Jose Enrique Salas, Miguel Anyel Salas, and Maximilianos Salas, Oscar Salas, Antonio Salas, and Julio BerdeJa.
