Inez (Smith) Jones, 85, of Newport departed this life on October 1, 2024. She was born in Grubbs, Arkansas on March 15, 1939, to Charlie Franklin and Daisy Lee (London) Smith.
Inez was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She had a passion for sewing and spent many hours crafting beautiful garments and gifts for her family, always adding a personal touch to everything she made.
Her love for Westerns was well-known, and she enjoyed watching classic films and TV shows that brought her joy and comfort. Above all, Inez cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren. They were the light of her life, and she treasured every moment shared with them.
Her kind heart, generosity, and loving spirit touched many lives. Inez’s warmth and love will live on in the memories of those who were fortunate enough to know her. Her family and friends will carry her legacy of love and kindness in their hearts forever.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Ruby Ballard; brothers, Nathan Smith and Boyce Smith.
She is survived by her daughters, Linda Adams of Mountain View, Dianna Moss of Missouri, Kathy Kosmach (John) of Jonesboro, and Karla George (Tony) of Newport; brother, Jerry Smith of Grubbs; Special caregiver and granddaughter, Nia Gates (Nicky) of Newport, Mercedes Tooley (Adam) of Weldon; and her special friend, Barbara Popejoy of Newport; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
