Teresa Louise (Sullins) Daigh departed this life on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at the age of 69. She was born July 12, 1955, in Newport, the baby girl out of a group of seven born to Jennings and Mabel (Smith) Sullins.

Teresa graduated from Grubbs High School in 1973. After graduation, she moved to New Mexico with her sister, where she met her husband. They lived in Florida and Oklahoma, where in 1985, she gave birth to her only daughter, Jenna Marie. Shortly after the fall of 1986, Teresa returned home to Newport, where she lived and raised her daughter with her parents.

She worked at Fred’s Dollar Store from 1990 to 2003. After that, she started her own cleaning service until her health no longer allowed it.

Teresa never met a stranger. She would give you her last dime if it meant you would be okay.

She loved listening to music and attending concerts, especially her favorite artists such as Rod Stewart, Michael Bolton, and John Anderson. Teresa made a mean BLT and was a wonderful baker. She loved to celebrate Christmas and kept her tree up year-round. Teresa also enjoyed Halloween and scary movies, especially vampire movies.

She loved being a mother, and a dog mom. Teresa was also an awesome grand-dog Momma! Her dogs were her world, and she would tell anyone under the sun how much she loved them.

If she loved you, she loved you fiercely. To know her was to love and be loved by her.

Teresa was preceded in death by her parents, Jennings and Mabel Sullins; one brother, Phil Sullins; and one sister, Diana Whaley.

She is survived by her daughter, Jenna Daigh Hatch and husband, Kyle of Sherwood; two brothers, Perry Sullins and wife, Herkey, of Conway, and Gordon Sullins and wife, Lisa, of Goodman, Missouri; two sisters, Lynda Sue Smith of Newport, and Anita Wagster of Newport; her dog, Kermit; many nieces and nephews; and a lifetime of friends.

Friends may visit at the funeral home, on Wednesday, October 16, from 1:00-1:30 p.m. Graveside services will follow on Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at Sullins Cemetery.

Arrangements by Jackson’s Newport Funeral Home.
