Virginia Faye (Jones) Slagley of Swifton, Arkansas, departed this life on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at the age of 84. She was born September 1, 1940, in Corning, the daughter of Odis and Margie (Richey) Jones.
Mrs. Slagley worked as a supervisor at Swifton High School Cafeteria. Mrs. Slagley had many hobbies including reading, gardening, cooking, and quilting. She finished her latest quilt just last month. She was a faithful and involved member of the Swifton First Assembly of God Church, where enjoyed teaching her Sunday School Class. Her family was the most important thing to her, she loved when they could all get together.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Shelby Dee Slagley; one son, Joseph Slagley; one daughter, Marjorie Ferguson; one brother, Odell Jones; one sister, Brenda Baker; one son-in-law, John Parks; her father, Odis Jones; and her mother Margie (Richey) Gilmore.
Mrs. Slagley is survived by one son, Robert Slagley and wife, Penny of Swifton; one daughter, Regeania Parks of Swifton; one sister, Doris Jordan of Myrtle, Mississippi; one son-in-law, David Ferguson of Charlotte; eight grandchildren, Michael Allen, Mark Allen, Eric See, Jenny Lyons, Sammy Ferguson, Robby K. Slagley, Matthew Slagley, Mandy LeCure; twenty-one great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; her Swifton First Assembly Family; and a lifetime of friends.
Friends may visit the funeral home, on Sunday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday at the Swifton First Assembly of God Church. The interment will be in Swifton Cemetery.
