Obituary: Cynthia Kaye Jackson

Cynthia Kaye Jackson of Tuckerman, Arkansas, departed this life on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at the age of 63. She was born July 27, 1961, in Newport, the daughter of Edward Ray Martin and Jewel Calamese.

She was a graduate of Newport High School. Cynthia married the love of her life, Farley Jackson, on August 16, 1985, and together they shared thirty-nine years of marriage. She enjoyed taking quick road trips with Farley and spending time with her family. Her hobbies included reading, working crossword puzzles and cooking for her loved ones. She had an unforgettable laugh, when she laughed you knew right away it was her. It was a laugh all her own. Her family was her pride and joy, she especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She worked for the Arkansas Department of Corrections. Mrs. Jackson was a faithful member of the Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church, where she served as an usher.

Mrs. Jackson was preceded in death by two brothers, Sherman Calamese and Larry Calamese; her parents; and loving grandmother who raised her, Estelle Calamese.

She is survived by her husband, Farley F. Jackson; two daughters, Shantell Chism and husband, Justin, of Memphis, Tennessee, and Jasmine Peel and husband, Halston, of Marion; two brothers, Michael Calamese and wife, Patsy, and Edward Calamese and wife, Gladis; two sisters, Lois Calamese and Sandra Winston; four grandchildren, Jewel Chism, Joslin Chism, James Chism, Harper Peel, and one on the way, Jaxson Chism; special Auntie, Alean Calamese; sister in law, Val Ridley; mother in law, Peggy Williams; father in law, Allen Jackson and wife, Dorothy; loving nieces and nephews, a host of cousins, and lifelong friends.

Visitation will be held at noon Saturday at the Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Services will begin at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Ira Crite officiating. The interment will be in Post Oak Cemetery.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Fred Nunn, Christopher Calamese, Mark Peel, Deshun Calamese, Tyrone Alcorn, and Herschel Alcorn.
