Thanks to a donation from Bad Boy Mowers, the Batesville Police Department has received over 30 new body armor vests.

Batesville Mayor Rick Elumbaugh, Police Chief John Scarbrough, and Bad Boy Mowers’ Jason Carson,  Amy Duvall, and Alan Cockrill were at the department on Tuesday for the official presentation of the vests, which are lighter, easier to remove, and designed for a better fit.

Thirty-five body armor vests, at roughly $1,400 per vest, were purchased for the BPD. The department expressed its gratitude to Bad Boy Mowers for the vests, which are already being used by officers in the field, according to Scarbrough.

Founded in 2000, Bad Boy Mowers began production in 2002, manufacturing and selling zero-turn mowers, sub-compact tractors, outdoor landscaping tools, parts, and accessories. The Batesville based-company sells its products to various retailers and to more than 1,100 independent dealers nationwide.
