State police launch investigation after Searcy County couple found dead

Searcy County officials have requested that the Arkansas State Police Criminal Investigation Unit investigate the deaths of a married couple found in their home in Harriet on Monday.

According to a release from the state police, deputies from the Searcy County Sheriff’s Office discovered the bodies of Theresa Harris, 69, and Tony Osborn, 68, in their home on Kings Road in Harriet after responding to a welfare check request.

State police said the deceased will be taken to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory to determine the manner and cause of death. The investigation is ongoing.
