Russell said the operation’s purpose, which was planned and organized by the Sharp County Sheriff’s Office, included targeting those with active arrest warrants and to perform compliance checks on probationers, parolees, and registered sex offenders.

The sheriff said the saturation started early last Thursday morning and continued until 12 a.m. that night with 48 officers working the county. Russell called the operation a “complete success.”

In addition to the Sharp County Sheriff’s Office, other law enforcement agencies that assisted in the saturation included: Ash Flat Police Department, Cave City Police Department, Evening Shade Police Department, Highland Police Department, Cherokee Village Police Department, Hardy Police Department, Izard County Sheriff’s Office, Independence County Sheriff’s Office, Arkansas State Police, 3rd Judicial Drug Task Force, Pocahontas Police Department. Randolph County Sheriff’s Office, Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office, Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, Newport Police Department, Arkansas Department of Community Corrections, and the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force.
