Wesley Warren Weldon, 82, of Bryant, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 2nd, 2024. He was born January 4, 1942, in Hot Springs, Arkansas, the son of Harry and Opal (Montgomery) Weldon.
Wes was an Air Force veteran who retired from First Electric. He met the love of his life, Georgia Hurst, while stationed in California during his military service. They married in June of 1962 and celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary this past summer. He was a devoted husband whose face lit up when speaking about his “George”.
Wes had many interests and talents; and he enjoyed hobbies that included playing the guitar, travel, photography, hunting, and collecting firearms. He built an open-cockpit prop plane that was later donated to IBLP.
Wes loved the Lord, his local church, and his pastor. He was a charter member of Bible Baptist Church of Bryant and was instrumental in helping build a new church building, but he will be remembered more for his faithfulness as a prayer partner and encouraging friend.
Wes was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Opal Weldon; and his brother Teddy Weldon.
He is survived by his wife, Georgia; his sisters-in-law, Alice and Frances Hurst; one nephew, Jonathan Weldon; and by many relatives, friends, and church family who will cherish his memory.
Visitation will be held Saturday, November 9th at 9:00 a.m. at Bible Baptist Church, 1722 Hilltop Road, Alexander AR, 72022, followed by a funeral service at 10:00 a.m. Burial will take place at 2:00 p.m. the same day at Clark Cemetery in Weiner, AR.
