A flood warning is in effect for the portions of the White River in Jackson, Independence, Izard, and Stone Counties.
On Tuesday evening, the river is expected to rise above the flood stage (15 feet) in Batesville to a crest of 17.5 feet early Thursday morning. It’s then expected to fall below flood stage early Friday morning.
Sunshine is forecast for Wednesday with the next chance for rain coming Wednesday night.
