Donice Woodward, 78, of Desha, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Saturday, November 2, 2024. She was born October 26, 1946, in Desha, AR, to the late Lee Roy Harmon and Roberta ‘Alexander’ Harmon. Donice attended Southside Assembly of God church. Donice and Charles owned a bakery together for over forty years in Batesville. Donice always had a charismatic personality and always had kind words. She was an energetic and giving woman. Donice favorite pastime was spending time with her grandbabies, collecting rocks and seashells. She enjoyed camping and hiking with her best friend (Charles). She traveled to the Grand Canyon and Niagara Falls. One of the biggest adventures of her life was finding the head of the Mississippi, Arkansas, and White River. Donice was a beloved member of the Desha community leaving a legacy behind. Donice was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, grandmother, and friend whose memory will forever be cherished by those who loved her.
Left to cherish her memories include her husband and best friend of 60 plus years, Charles Woodward; her son, Chuck (Melissa) Woodward; her daughter, Tracy (Robert) Newton; her eight grandchildren, Whitney Foster (Mike), Kayla Cullum (Clint), Dystany Hendrix (Gaylon), Bailey Houy (Timmy), Colt Newton, Chaz Zumwalt (Shannon), Kyler Zumwalt (Krystiana), Bryce Carter; her ten Great Grandchildren, Reef Foster, Payton Cullum, Ryelynn Hendrix, Creed Hendrix, Avri Vivi/Ann Hendrix, Jensen Hendrix, Hannah Hendrix, Natali Houy, Easton Odell, and Braylen Zumwalt, and a sister; Royce Stubbs (Loren).
Donice is preceded in death by both of her parents; her daughter, Tanna Woodward, and her brother, Sonny Harmon.
Graveside service for Donice will be held on Thursday, November 7, 2024, at 10 A.M. at the Alderbrook cemetery in Desha, Ar. The funeral service will be officiated by Bro. Brian Ryals. Honored to serve as pallbearers are Sanford Candler, Jeff Stubbs, Darrell Stubbs Mike Woodward, Mike Foster, and Clint Cullum. The family would like to also recognize the following as honorary pallbearers; ALL OF HER GRANDCHILDREN AND GREAT GRANDCHILDREN.
