Southside residents are encouraged to attend an upcoming Southside City Council meeting, where restaurant liquor licenses will be discussed.

The city is considering a proposal to allow local restaurants to apply for liquor licenses, enabling them to serve alcohol to patrons. Under this proposal, restaurants would submit applications to the Arkansas Alcoholic Beverage Control Board and must meet necessary requirements for approval, the city said on its website.

The proposal will be discussed in detail at the Nov. 12 council meeting, and the city hopes residents will attend to share their opinions. The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. at Southside City Hall.

On its website, the city said it “values the input of its residents and is eager to hear thoughts, concerns and suggestions regarding this potential change. The goal is to ensure any decisions made reflect the community’s best interests and contribute to the overall growth and quality of life in Southside.”
