Rose Marie Meloy, 70, of Newport, passed away on October 29, 2024. Born on June 6, 1956, to Walter Lee Davis and Virginia Pearl Champlin, Rose devoted her career to Home Health Care, bringing comfort and kindness to those in her care. Known for her adventurous spirit, she enjoyed the thrill of riding motorcycles and spent many peaceful hours fishing. Her love for the outdoors extended to her garden, where she found joy in nurturing plants and creating beauty. Rose’s warm presence, generous heart, and passion for life left a lasting impact on her family and friends. She will be deeply missed, remembered for her love of life, and cherished for the joy she brought to those around her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Gus Jones and her daughter, Amy Capers.
She is survived by her brothers, Carl Davis of Houston, Texas and David Jimmy Davis of Houston, Texas; her sister, Charlotte Mingdeller (Patrick) of Florida; her grandchildren, Alex Capers of Newport and Talia Capers of Newport; her great-grandchildren, Alex Capers II of Newport, Amelia Hardiman of Newport and Mia Hardiman of Newport; and her son-in-law David Capers of Newark.
