A local chef has made it to the finals of the Burger Division at the World Food Championships in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Jesse Dorris of Batesville’s Jesse James Foods placed third in the division’s opening round on Sunday with his signature Ghost Burger. He will now compete for the World Title on Tuesday beginning at 9 a.m., with the winner announced Tuesday afternoon.
“I am deeply grateful for all the support, prayers, and encouragement I’ve received along the way,” Dorris said on his Facebook page. “It truly means the world. A special thank you to The Miracle League of Arkansas for making this opportunity possible. Above all, I thank the Lord for His guidance and blessings throughout this journey.”
Billed as the world’s largest food sport competition, the World Food Championships features more than 300 competitive cooking teams from around the world as they compete across 12 categories for the title of World Food Champion. The event is being held at the Indiana State Fairgrounds & Event Center in Indianapolis.
