Lyon College will hold its annual Furry Frenzy Toy Toss game Saturday at Becknell Gymnasium in support of the Rotary Club of Batesville’s Angel Tree program, which provides Christmas gifts for children in need.
The event invites fans attending the Scots basketball game against Austin College to bring a new stuffed toy. When the Lyon Scots score their first points, fans will toss the toys onto the court. Admission to the 1 p.m. game is free for those who bring a stuffed toy.
All toys collected will be donated to the Angel Tree program, which distributes gifts to children from families facing financial challenges. The Toy Toss has become a local tradition, bringing the community together each year to support families and celebrate the holiday season.
“This event is always a great opportunity for our fans to support the community in a meaningful way while enjoying a fun afternoon of basketball,” said Lyon College Athletics Director Kevin Jenkins. “We are grateful for the community’s support in making this season brighter for children in Batesville and beyond.”
