Ellen Marie Payne, 71, of Newark, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 13. She was born on April 4, 1953, in Newport to Webster and Pearlie (Coldwell) Earls. A devoted and compassionate Registered Nurse, Ellen dedicated her life to caring for others, leaving a legacy of kindness and service in the healthcare field. Known for her gentle touch and unwavering commitment to her patients, she brought comfort and healing to all who knew her.
Ellen was a woman of deep faith and a proud member of the Pentecostal church. Her belief guided her daily life and strengthened her during life’s trials. Ellen was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ulysses Payne, and her parents, Webster and Pearlie. She leaves behind a cherished memory in the hearts of family, friends, and those whose lives she touched through her nursing career. Ellen’s warmth, selflessness, and dedication will be deeply missed, and her memory will live on in the lives she so graciously served.
Mrs. Payne is survived by her daughter, April Payne of Tennessee, four brothers: Rickey Earls (Sabrina) of Newark, Danny Earls (Charlotte) of Jonesboro, Johnny Earls of Hickory Ridge, and Herman Earls of Newport, two sisters; Lisa Jackson of Cabot and Debbie Swait of Benton.
