Gary Duwayne Owens of Swifton, Arkansas, departed this life on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at the age of 75. He was born April 18, 1949, in Newport, Arkansas, the son of Orvin Homer and Frances Ellen (Dukes) Owens.
Mr. Owens was a 1967 Swifton High School graduate. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War, living in Germany for two years. He married the love of his life, Suzanne (Reed) Owens on September 17, 1971. Mr. Owens enjoyed woodworking and was a great handyman. He was of the Baptist Faith.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Dale Owens and Donald Owens; one sister, Evelyn Sade; and his parents.
Mr. Owens is survived by his wife, of 53 years, Suzanne (Reed) Owens; one sister, Linda Templeton and husband, Larry, of Swifton; one brother-in-law, Jerry Reed and wife, Evaughn, of Newport; many nieces and nephews; and a lifetime of friends.
