Drivers heading to the Heber Springs area via Highway 25 should note that the Greers Ferry Dam will be closed nightly from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. until Thursday morning.

The Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) announced that the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is closing the highway to allow crews to perform routine maintenance on the dam.

To accommodate traffic, only one lane will remain open across the dam from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. today and tomorrow, with lane closures controlled by traffic signals. Nightly full highway closures will be managed with signage.

Eastbound traffic will be detoured via Highway 25 to Quitman, then Highway 16 to Greers Ferry, Highway 92 to Drasco, and finally south on Highway 25 to the east side of the dam. Westbound traffic will follow the same route in reverse.
