Under the leadership of Director Carlene Morrison and Board Chairman Bill Walmsley, the Independence County Library reported notable activity in October 2024.
The library recorded 9,073 visitors during its 27 operating days, averaging 336 patrons per day. Circulation included 8,514 physical items and 4,979 electronic materials, with 108 new library cards issued.
Sixteen volunteers contributed 382 hours of service, and resident genealogist Kelly Denison provided research assistance to 15 patrons over 19 hours. The library hosted 76 programs, attracting 3,207 attendees. Public computers were used 357 times.

- Dec. 3, 11:15 a.m.: Southside Charter High School Mini-Madrigal Concert.
- Dec. 7, 12–2 p.m.: Santa Claus visit.
- Dec. 10, 11:15 a.m.: Batesville High School Chamber Choir performance.
- Dec. 11, 11 a.m.: First Community Bank Choral.
- Dec. 13, 4 p.m.: Screening of The Nightmare Before Christmas.

The library, located at 267 E. Main Street, is open Monday-Thursday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
