Vaughn Riley, 85, of Bethesda died Monday, November 25, 2024, in a local hospital.
Born in Batesville, Arkansas, on May 21, 1939, he was the son of Earl and Julia Riley. He was a retired farm/agricultural employee of the University of Arkansas Experiment Station. He was also an accomplished musician/singer/guitar player/songwriter, having written and recorded many songs. He played in various venues surrounding the Batesville area as well as Missouri.
Survivors include his partner in life, Charlotte Hutson; one daughter, Michelle Riley (Robert); one step-daughter, LeeAnn Johnson; one step-son, Kevin Hutson; a brother, Don Riley of Cushman; thirteen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Kale Riley; step-son, Shanon Porterfield; grandson, Gerry Riley; four brothers, Frank, Jimmy, Buford, and Homer, and three sisters, Vivian Richardson, Daisy Fielder, and Jolene Burrow.
Pallbearers are Robert Pueblo, Adam Jarrett, Darren Strain, Tristyn Johnson, Kyle Riley, and Michael Riley.
Graveside services will be held Friday, November 29, 2024, at 2:00 pm at Barnes Cemetery in Bethesda with Larry Sellers officiating.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 pm until 1:00 pm on Friday at the Roller-Crouch Funeral Home.
