Mrs. Shelbie Jean (Moore) Waters, 86, of Trumann, Arkansas, departed this life Thursday, November 28, 2024, at her home with her family.

Jean was born August 18, 1938, in Pontotoc, Mississippi, the daughter of Jim Tom and Sarah Elizabeth (Walls) Moore. She was preceded in death by her parents; also preceding her in death was her husband, Berry Waco Waters (July 2, 2007), four brothers: S. T. Moore, J. W. Moore, Alvin Moore, and James Moore, and two sisters: Willie Wages and Ruth McElroy.

Jean was a homemaker and of the Church of Christ faith. She enjoyed watching the news and eating Kentucky Fried Chicken. She loved to cook and kept up with the temperature and the highs and lows daily by marking on her calendar. Christmas was her favorite time of the year.

Jean loved spending time with her family, especially her niece, Debra Jean when she came to visit and fixed her hair.

She is survived by one son, Eugene Waters of Jonesboro; one daughter, Elizabeth Waters of Weona, Arkansas; 5 grandchildren, Mikaila Hopper, Brittany Waters, Erin Waters, Candice Lee, and Berry Waters; 3 great-grands, Kinsley Hopper, Navy Hopper, and Jasper Hopper.

Visitation will be Thursday, December 5, 2024, at Jackson’s Harrisburg Funeral Home from 6 until 8 p.m. Funeral Service will be Friday, December 6, 2024, at 2 p.m. in the chapel. Chaplain Harold McMickle will conduct the service.

These men will serve as Active Pallbearers: Donnie Davis, Donnie Davis Jr, Anthony Hopper, Berry Waters, Eddie Lynch and David Sloan.

Interment will be in Harrisburg Memorial Park. Arrangements are by Jackson’s Funeral Home.
