Norma Faye Martin, 86, of Batesville passed away November 28, 2024.
She was born July 20, 1938, to Ernest Truman Newberry and Edith Mable (Hunter) Newberry.
Norma was a lady of understanding, kindness, love, and compassion. She always spoke words of wisdom and words of truth. She would always speak her mind and never raise her voice, but if she did, it was with kindness and discipline. Norma could be very stubborn at times but she was just one to not beat around the bush. You got what you gave out and that’s the facts, pure and simple.
Survivors include two sons, Allen Martin of Pleasant Plains, James Hicks of Floral; three daughters, Edith Martin of Southside, Robin Dunar of Desha, Frances Bukharia of Knoxville, Tennessee; two brothers, Joseph Newberry of San Diego, California, Jerry Newberry of Sturgis, Michigan; fifteen grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, twelve great-great-grandchildren, and special friends, David and Nancy Branscum, and Jerry Bird and Autie Hall.
She is preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Alton Alvin Martin.
Pallbearers are Andrew Martin, Darryl Thompson, Alan Martin, and Michael Martin.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 5, 2024, at 2:00 pm at the Roller-Crouch Funeral Home in Batesville. Burial will follow at Egner Cemetery.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
