Sherrill Almon Fagan, 82, of Pleasant Plains, AR, entered the gates of Heaven on Sunday, December 1, 2024. Sherrill was born on January 11, 1942, in Hillsboro, AL, to the late William Ennis Fagan and Jesse Louise (Morris) Fagan. Sherrill was of Christian faith and served the Lord as a member of Pleasant Plains First Assembly of God in Pleasant Plains.  He also served the Lord from the pulpit for many years. His first love was Jesus and His gospel. He loved to witness to others and share the Word of God! One of his favorite hobbies was fishing; so not only was he a fisherman, but he was truly a “fisher of men”. Sherrill served his country honorably in both the United States Army and the United States Navy. He was very proud of his military service and was a true patriot. Sherrill was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, cousin, pastor, and friend, and he will be dearly missed by everyone who was blessed to know and love him.

Sherrill is preceded in death by both of his parents; his two sisters, Edna Rodgers and Mary Bowden; his 6 brothers, Jimmy Fagan, Coy Fagan, Tom Fagan, Pete Fagan, Glen Fagan, and Williard Fagan; his first wife, Dolly Ann (Brown) Fagan; and his grandson, Jordan Nathanial Fagan. He is survived by his loving wife, Rose Anna (Thoma) Fagan; his 3 sons, Austin Fagan (Karen), Paul Fagan (Courtney), and Chris Fagan (Brandi); his two step-sons, John Ellis (Rhonda) and Daniel Ellis (Gwen); his step-daughter, Lisa Newton (Richard); his two brothers, Sonny Fagan and Joey Fagan (Rosetta); his grandchildren, Austin Jr. (Samantha), Joshua (Amanda), Virginia, J.P., Kyle, and Kailea; his step-grandchildren, Austin, Ethan (Allison), Brittany (Dylan), Andrea, Nathaniel, Joshua, and Caleb (Ana); his great-grandchildren, River, Case, Lily, Alice, Trevor, and Violet; his step-great-grandchildren, Madilyn, Luke, Emily, Kelsea, and Hunter; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

Services are entrusted to Willis Funeral Service of Batesville, AR. Pleasant Plains First Assembly of God in Pleasant Plains will host the services on Saturday, December 7, 2024. Visitation will be from 1 PM until 2 PM; with the funeral service beginning at 2 PM. Interment will follow at Sulphur Rock Cemetery in Sulphur Rock immediately following the service.
