Obituary: Russell “Rusty” Alan Moore

Russell “Rusty” Alan Moore, age 60, of Batesville, AR passed away on Saturday, December 7, 2024. Rusty was born February 19, 1964, in Pine Bluff, AR to the late Martha (Mayfield) Moore and Lonnis H. Moore. He attended Woodlawn High School, where he graduated in 1982. Rusty also attended UAM where he pitched for the Boll Weevils. He was a part of the Woodlawn community until he moved to Batesville in 2013, where he worked on the family farms and at Batesville Motor Speedway. Rusty lived his life to help anyone who needed it. He loved his children, grandchildren, and family more than anything. He also loved hunting, fishing, and his best friend, “Loco”.

He is survived by his daughter, Lucy Mesa (Ryan and Dax) of Batesville; son, Ruston Moore (Emily and Emberlynn) of Melbourne; son, Karson Pierce (Brittany, Gavin, and Creek) of Yellville; a sister, Susan Trucks (Mark) of Batesville; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

John 3:16 will host a Celebration of Life on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at 11 AM. There will be a graveside service at Egner Cemetery beginning at 2 PM. Pallbearers are Karson Pierce, Ryan Mesa, Ruston Moore, Trey Trucks, Bo Trucks, Tyson Trucks, David Patterson, Joey Smith, and Eddie Crawford. Honorary Pallbearers are Mark Trucks, Tony Mesa, Creek Pierce, and Dax Mesa.
