W.O. Huskey, 79, of Saffell, Arkansas was born January 1st, 1945 to Everett and Lydia Gertie Sue (Osborn) Huskey. He passed away from this life on December 5th, 2024 and leaves behind many cherished memories.
He was a 1962 Graduate of Strawberry High School and a Veteran of the United States Army serving as a Military Police during the Vietnam war. Once out of the army he went to the police academy and served with the Arkansas State Police, Troop B for 26 years until retirement. He lived in Mountain View for his entire career. Once retired, he moved back home to Saffell to finish out the remainder of his life.
W.O. was a Christian and a member of Mt. Harmony Freewill Baptist Church. Anyone that knew him knew the love that he had for his horses and his Harley. As a dear friend said, “there will never be another W.O. he was blunt, to-the-point, matter-of-fact, so kind, helpful, loyal and at times very funny.” If you ever caught a smile out of him you were considered lucky.
W.O. was preceded in death by his parents Everett and Gertie Sue.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughters Stacy Gray (Tony Jeffries) and Laura Bennett (Gary). His grandchildren, Hannah Scogin Spencer (Tyler); Jacob Scogin (Maci Grady) and Alexander Sheredy (aka A.J. but only to his PawPaw). Sister, Dianne Nelson. Nephew, Tim Durham and niece Tiffanie Randolph (Robert). W.O. Is also survived by a great nephew and 2 great nieces, other relatives and many friends. His memory will be cherished by all that knew him.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, December 10th, 2024 at the Mountain View Funeral Service Chapel, beginning at 10:00 am. Brother Eddie Passmore and Brother David Campbell will officiate the service. Interment will take place at Dry Creek Cemetery, in Lynn, Arkansas, with the United States Army and Arkansas State Police rendering full honors.
Pallbearers will be Jacob Scogin, Alexander Sheredy, Tony Jeffries, Gary Bennett, Tim Durham and Rodney Stevenson II.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Randy Huskey, Scotty Huskey, Rusty Huskey, Jeff Huskey, Scotty Johnson and Jerry Gilliam.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Mountain View Funeral Service.
