Gene Edward Bigham Jr. lovingly known as Eddie, 64, of Batesville, was called home Sunday, December 15, 2024. Eddie was born on November 26, 1960, in Hot Springs, to Gene Bigham, Sr. and Edna Bigham.

He lived in Point Cedar, Arkansas and went to school at Lake Side, where he graduated and later joined the Army. During his service time, he was a mechanic for two years. After his service time he learned how to lay sheet rock and worked in that for several years.

When he retired he moved to Bismarck, Arkansas, and later moved to Batesville, in July of 2022. He moved to Batesville, because he needed to change his way of living for a better life. In these two years, he was able to stop the drugs and drinking and was feeling much better about himself.

Eddie loved to hunt and fish and had an amazing time fishing with Rob. He was the type that would help anyone who needed a place to stay and could make you laugh, cry, and so mad that you would want to ring his neck at times. He was also a Buccaneers fan and his little sis was a Bronco fan so he would give her fits about her team.

During his last few weeks, Eddie was able to bring in one more birthday to be able to tell his sister Brenda I caught you and to be here on his little sister’s birthday December 9, 2024, and December 12, 2024, for Brenda’s, just so she can tell him I passed you one more time. Eddie left behind a lot of friends who loved him and he will truly be missed.

Left to cherish his memory are two sisters, Barbara Atkinson, of Harrison, and Brenda G. Bigham Singleton Harris, of Bismark; a nephew Eric Van Singleton, of Hot Springs; a niece, Milissa Ann Murdock, of Malvern; a cousin Linda Bigham, of Searcy; brother in Law, Jimmy Lee Harris, of Amity; and also his little sister, Lisa Roe (Rob), of Batesville; and her kids, Alyssa Cline (Josha), of Searcy, Jacob Newton, of Jessiville, and R.J. Roe, of Batesville; and several great nieces and nephews.

Eddie was preceded in death, by both his parents Gene Bigham Sr. and Edna Bigham, and also his brother, Jerry Bigham.
