“A great EMT is not only skilled in their trade but also deeply committed to helping others, often going above and beyond to provide exceptional care in critical moments,” Lanier said. “This year’s EMT of the Year, Trenton Johnson, exemplifies these qualities and more. Trenton has demonstrated an unwavering eagerness to enhance his contributions as an EMT, taking on extra shifts with a positive attitude and embodying the core values of Vital Link’s culture. His unmatched professionalism and commitment to excellence have set a standard for his peers and made a significant impact on the organization.”
Paramedic of the Year Dillon Thornley (pictured below, center, with Tosh and Lanier) was praised for his leadership and dependability.
“Known for his reliability and steadfast dedication, he has been instrumental in the organization’s transition to a new protocol system, providing essential training to clinical staff to ensure the highest standards of care,” Kenny Tosh, Vital Link’s chief operating officer, said of Thornley.
Beyond his responsibilities at Vital Link, Dillon has shared his expertise with the broader community by teaching educational classes throughout our service area.
Whether managing protocols, responding to emergencies, or educating the public, Dillon consistently demonstrates professionalism, dependability, and a commitment to excellence, Vital Link said in a release.
The banquet also celebrated milestone anniversaries for several employees.
April Russell, an EMT supervisor, was honored for 20 years of service. April leads with compassion and unwavering integrity, inspiring others to always do what is right, the release said.
Keith Porter, who manages medical supplies, was recognized for 25 years of service. Keith is an exceptional EMT who also oversees medical supplies, demonstrating a consistently positive attitude and a compassionate spirit, Vital Link said.
Emergency Repair of Arkansas (ERA), a division of Vital Link, celebrated its director, Sherwin Meharg, for 35 years of service.
“Sherwin’s unmatched expertise and leadership have been instrumental to ERA’s success, and his dedication to the company is evident in all he does,” Lanier said.
