Over the weekend, an overturned tractor-trailer and a sedan crash involving a power pole kept area officials occupied.
Independence County Judge Kevin Jeffery said a tractor-trailer carrying lime overturned Sunday at about 8:30 a.m. on State Highway 69 in Magness. The driver was not injured. County deputies and state police diverted traffic on the highway as crews worked to clear the scene.
On Saturday at about 5:30 p.m., Jeffery said a sedan struck a power pole near 4th and Main streets in Batesville, causing a brief power outage.
The crash, which occurred near the Jess Carpenter building downtown, affected approximately 2,400 Entergy Arkansas customers. No injuries were reported.
