Arkansas is expected to experience dry conditions through Friday, with a strong area of high pressure persisting in the region after a cold front moved through on Monday.

Forecasts from the National Weather Service in Little Rock indicate that upper-level winds will flow from the west to northwest, bringing Pacific-origin air into the area. As a result, temperatures are expected to align closely with seasonal averages, with daytime highs ranging from the mid-40s to mid-50s and nighttime lows nearing freezing across central Arkansas. Southern regions will likely remain above freezing, while northern areas may dip below.

While temperatures will likely rise slowly from Saturday night into Sunday, forecasts suggest that most precipitation will be in liquid form, with the possibility of brief winter weather in northeast Arkansas. However, any accumulation is expected to be minimal.

Another dry cold front will move through the state on Friday, promoting slightly cooler and drier air, though little to no precipitation is expected. Winds may shift briefly to the south, allowing for a slight chance of isolated showers on Thursday evening, particularly near the Arkansas-Louisiana border.

Looking ahead, an upper-level trough is projected to enter the Pacific Northwest by Saturday morning, increasing moisture levels and increasing precipitation chances. For now, Saturday is anticipated to be dry, but widespread precipitation is expected late Saturday night into Sunday. As another cold front approaches, a brief period of winter weather cannot be ruled out for northern regions, but major impacts are not anticipated.
