William “Bill” Byron Hall of Tuckerman, Arkansas, departed this life on Monday, December 30, 2024, at 48. He was born April 2, 1976, in Alexandria, Louisiana, the son of George William and Jena (Wooten) Hall.
Bill spent most of his childhood in Jena, Louisiana, before moving to Newport, Arkansas with his parents. He graduated from Newport High School in 1994 and earned an Associate of Liberal Arts degree from ASU-Newport.
Bill served as the Child Nutrition Director for Opaa! Foods in the Jackson County School District, where he was loved by both the children and the staff.
He was a dedicated member and the current Worship Director at Village Creek Baptist Church in Diaz. Bill enjoyed contributing as the student and children’s leader. Above all, his unwavering faith and profound love for God were the cornerstones of his life.
He enjoyed golf and was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs.
Bill was known for his flair for the dramatic, a characteristic that shone through in his long-standing involvement with the Jackson County Theatre. His talent and charisma earned him a starring role in numerous productions, where he captivated audiences with his performances.
Moreover, Bill was an enormous enthusiast of the Star Wars franchise. He loved everything about it—from the iconic characters and epic battles to the intricate lore of the galaxy far, far away.
Bill was a beloved figure in the community, known for his cheerful happy-go-lucky, demeanor and infectious smile. His easy-going nature made him approachable, and he had a rare talent for making everyone feel like a friend. His warmth and kindness resonated with everyone around him. The moments he treasured most were those spent surrounded by his family, laughing with friends, and fellowshipping with his church family.
Bill was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Byron “Barney” and Beulah “Bootie” Hall; his maternal grandparents, Dephra and Betty Wooten; and his aunt, Rebecca Hall.
On May 15, 2010, Bill married Alexis Blithe Holmes, who he adored with his whole heart for the past 14 years. She survives him, along with his three sons, Donovan M. Hall, Cohen I. Hall, and Eamonn F.H. Hall, to whom he was a devoted and loving father; his parents, George William and Jena Hall of Newport; one brother, Robert Hall of Jonesboro; and one sister, Debra Hall of Newport. Also surviving are his nephews and niece, Joseph Hall, Lilly Hall, and Cameron Hall, all of Jonesboro; his parents-in-law, Larry and Carol Holmes of Glenpool, Oklahoma; brothers-in-law, Matthew Holmes of Glenpool, Oklahoma, and Evan Holmes of Midland, Texas; his very best friend, Jason Adams of Jackson, Mississippi; many other family and a lifetime of friends.
Friends may visit the funeral home, on Thursday, January 2, 2025, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral services are at 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 3, at Jackson’s Newport Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Michael Freeman officiating.
Those serving as honorary pallbearers are Donovan M. Hall, Cohen I. Hall, Eamonn F.H. Hall, Jason Adams, Michael Freeman, Matthew Holmes, Evan Holmes, and Paul McKinney.
