The City of Batesville will host a retirement reception on Thursday, Jan. 9, to honor outgoing City Clerk and Treasurer Denise Johnston, MMC, who is retiring after 34 years of service.

The reception will take place at the Batesville Municipal Building, located at 500 E. Main St., and is open to the public.

Johnston, who announced her retirement effective Jan. 11, was serving the second year of a four-year elected term as city clerk and treasurer. On Dec. 18, the Batesville City Council appointed Jessica Davis to fill Johnston’s unexpired term.
