Bani’ Meharg, (center, with Midland Superintendent Toby Crosby left, and Julie Warden with Citizens Bank) former principal at Midland Elementary, was named Monday to receive the January “Citizens Bank Shine Like a Mustang Award.”
Citizens Bank said in a media release that Meharg is recognized for her years of dedication and service to the Midland School District.
“She has been the best principal that anyone could ask for,” said a fellow staff member. “She makes sure that she is at all the pee wee basketball games, that all of the players are taken care of, and works hard for our school and our community. She loves our students and teachers unconditionally and makes sure that they feel love every time they pass her in the hallway. She has dedicated herself to this school for years, and she deserves to be nominated as the best principal Midland has ever seen. We will truly miss Ms. Meharg.”
With this program, Citizens Bank and Midland School District aim to recognize staff members who shine in their role as Mustangs and live out the district’s vision to engage learning at high levels and embrace challenges without fear of failure. Staff nominate the award recipients, who receive a Certificate of Excellence, a $25 gift card, and a 16-ounce insulated cup from Citizens Bank. The award is presented at the Midland School Board meeting each month.
