Margie Berniece (Faulkner) Parks, 96, of Harrisburg, Arkansas departed this life Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at St Bernard Medical Center of Jonesboro, Arkansas.
Berniece was born on August 12, 1928 in Bay Village, Arkansas, the daughter of W. F. and Bessie (Owens) Faulkner.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, William ‶Sonny″ Parks, four brothers: Prentis ‶Bud″ Faulkner, Carl Frankie Faulkner, Eddie Ray Faulkner, J. W. Faulkner, and two sisters: Helen Parks and Billie Dean Mauldin.
She is a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Harrisburg and has been for more than 70 years. She taught Sunday School classes and was active on the Prayer Team.
Berniece graduated from Vanndale High School in 1946. Her love for sports started when she was in school, she played basketball when the girls only played half-court 3 on 3. She has enjoyed watching the St. Louis Cardinals, and the Arkansas Razorbacks. Berniece has loved playing all kinds of games with her family and enjoyed the time together with family and friends.
She is survived by one son, William Michael Parks of Harrisburg, one daughter, Darlene (Tommy) Williams, also of Harrisburg, two brothers: Bobby Joe (Nancy) Faulkner of Little Rock, Arkansas and Larry Jean (Ruth) Faulkner of Fulton, Mississippi, one sister, Gladys Gates of Harrisburg, four grandchildren: Tammy (Darren) Woodson, Tonya (Kurt) Johns, Brian (Jennifer) Williams, and Micah (Chris) Crews, and 6 great-grands: Sarah (Edgar) Hernandez, Daniel Woodson, Hannah Johns, Addi Williams, Emma Johns, and Sonni Crews. Berniece is also survived by some very special nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Friday, January 24 2025 at 1:00 P. M. and Funeral Service will begin at 2:00 P. M. at Jackson’s Harrisburg Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Eddie Passmore will conduct the service.
These men will serve as Active pallbearers: Daniel Woodson, Darren Woodson, Kurt Johns, Chris Crews, Brian Williams, and Edgar Hernandez.
The interment will be in Harrisburg Memorial Park in Harrisburg, Arkansas. Arrangements are by Jackson’s Harrisburg Funeral Home.
