The library logged 89,757 visitors across 265 operating days, averaging 339 daily visitors. Physical item circulation reached 98,756, while digital materials accounted for an additional 53,899 checkouts.
Community engagement expanded with 1,127 new library card registrations and 689 programs that drew 12,369 participants. And volunteers contributed 2,340 hours to support library operations and special projects.
The library’s technology services recorded 4,013 public computer sessions, while the genealogy department conducted 169 research sessions throughout the year.
“Our 2024 statistics tell a story of growth, impact, and community connection,” said Sloane Lott, the library’s community engagement liaison. “We are grateful to our patrons, volunteers, and staff for making these achievements possible. Together, we’re creating a space that fosters learning, discovery, and belonging for all.”
Independence County Judge praised the library for its active year.
“We have an outstanding library, library board, and staff that greatly benefits our county and the residents,” Jeffery said.
