Ruth Ann Irwin (Tubbs) of Sulphur Rock, departed this life Monday, January 27th, 2025 peacefully in her sleep. She was born September 28th, 1948, the eldest child of Johnnie C. Tubbs and E. Raye Tubbs (Chatman).
Ruth was a devout Christian and a member of the Swifton Assembly of God church. Throughout life’s trials and tribulations, her faith never wavered; she knew one day she would be home with her Lord.
Ruth was a 1966 graduate of Grubbs High School. During her time there, she made lifelong friends. Lovingly known as “The Chicks of 66”, this group of women made time to get together, go on trips, and support one another throughout their many years of friendship.
Ruth dedicated her life as a medical coding specialist at Newport Hospital before retiring from Harris Hospital to spend more time with her growing family.
Ruth enjoyed spending time at the lake, gardening with her sister, cooking or baking, cuddling with her beloved dog Rocky while watching Lifetime/Hallmark movies, and was an avid traveler, until she was promoted to Grammy, prompting her move from Alaska back to Arkansas.
Ruth is preceded in death by her parents; her daughter: Joanna Ruth Norris; her husband: James “Trapper” Irwin; her brother: Tommy Tubbs; and her fur-babies: Skye, Sassy and Sophie.
She is survived by her daughter: Eva Henriksen and husband Jamie of Sulphur Rock; her brother: Johnnie “Bo” Tubbs and wife Judy of Newark; her sister: Mendy Dinsmore and partner Jeff Sutton of Batesville; her sister-in-law Lisa Tubbs; her grandchildren: Kelby Mathews and husband James of Campbell Station; Luke Henriksen of Mountain View, Carrie Wilson and husband Tyler of Rogers; great-grandchildren: Nolan, Savannah, Rhys Wilson and Bentley Mathews; many nieces and nephews; her dear, special friends for many years The Chicks of 66; and her beloved fur-baby Rocky who will miss her very much.
Ruth Ann lived a long, beautiful life and considered herself blessed and grateful to have countless amount of family and friends.
Her celebration of this life will be Thursday, January 30th, 2025 at Jackson’s Funeral Home in Newport starting at 1:00 pm for visitation with the service to follow after.
Honorary pallbearers are Jamie Henriksen, James Mathews, Jeff Sutton and Tommy Holmes, as well as the Grubbs High School Class of 1966.
