Bernice (Goza) Henderson of Swifton, Arkansas, departed this life on Friday, January 31, 2025, at the age of 93. She was born June 9, 1931, in Alicia, the daughter of Arkey and Jessie (Wallin) Goza.
On October 27, 1947, Miss Bernice Goza married Floyd “Skeeter” Henderson, and they enjoyed 56 years together.
Mrs. Henderson was a devoted member of the Abiding Faith Pentecostal Church of God at Swifton. She was faithful in her attendance, and had a servant’s heart, giving of her time to serve as secretary and treasurer many years. She loved her church family.
Mrs. Henderson was a homemaker, who loved nothing more than taking care of her family. During her younger years, she and Skeeter loved to camp and made lasting memories with their children and grandchildren on these camping trips. As she was blessed with great-grandchildren, she attended all their school and athletic events, recording their stats perfectly.
Not one to let the grass grow beneath her feet, Mrs. Henderson loved to travel and enjoyed attending festivals and listening to live music. She enjoyed going on rides, visiting old home places and reminiscing with her daughter. She often said she would go anywhere Teresa would take her!
Mrs. Henderson was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Floyd “Skeeter” Henderson; one son, Rickey D. Henderson; four brothers, Charles Goza, Caroll Goza, Jerry Goza, and Sammy Goza; one sister, Lovan Arnold; her closest friend, Elaine “Mama E” Goza; and her parents.
