Obituary: Harold Lloyd Baker Sr.

Harold Lloyd Baker Sr.,100 years of age, of Jonesboro, Arkansas formerly of Harrisburg departed this life Sunday, February 2, 2025, at South Wind Heights in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Lloyd was born August 7, 1924, in Weiner, Arkansas the son of Jesse and May Belle (Knowlton) Baker. His parents have preceded him in death and he was also preceded by his wife, Marion (Grady) Baker, brother, James Bureatte Baker stepmother, Rose Schwaller Baker, and step-brother, J. B. Schwaller. Lloyd was a Distributor of Exxon products for this area and owned and operated an Exxon Service Station in Harrisburg. He graduated from Harrisburg High School with the class of 1942 and he enjoyed being on the football team. After graduation, he joined the United States Marines and was trained in San Diego, California. He is a member of the First Baptist Church, served in Rotary, and was a member of the American Legion. Lloyd enjoyed quail hunting, spending time with family and friends and was a fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and the Memphis Grizzlies. He is survived by son, Harold Lloyd Baker Jr. and daughter, Donna Lee Baker both of Jonesboro, nephews: Kirk (Joanne) Baker of El Paso, Arkansas and Eric Baker of Northwest, Arkansas. Visitation will be Thursday, February 6, 2025, at Jackson’s Funeral Home Chapel from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P. M. Funeral Service will begin at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor B. J. Chatman conducting the service. The interment will be in Harrisburg Memorial Park Cemetery. The Baker family wants to express a heartfelt “Thank You” to the staff and friends at South Wind Heights in Jonesboro for the love and care shown to their Father. Arrangements are by Jackson’s Funeral Home.
