
M.C. Conyers, 88, of Batesville, Arkansas passed away on February 15, 2025. He was born February 17, 1936, in Sidney, Arkansas to Estel and Georgia (Daughrity) Conyers.
M.C. proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He also worked many jobs, including managing an APCO service station and working for Ideal Bakery and Wonder Bread, and he worked many years as a truck driver. He was a strong-willed and immaculate man. M.C. was known as Mr. Clean because of how tidy he liked to keep everything. He also enjoyed mowing his yard and listening to traditional classic country music. He had a huge collection of records, CDs, and cassettes of Classic Country music. M.C. also loved his dogs, Clover, Sarge, and Chester.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife of 21 years, Carol Makarick Conyers of Batesville, Arkansas; three sons, Rick (Lisa) Conyers of Cabot, Arkansas, Tim (LeeAnn) Conyers of Batesville, Arkansas, and Scott Makarick of Hammondsport, New York; two daughters, Lynn Makarick of Batesville, and Lori Makarick of Fort Collins, Colorado. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Caleb Conyers, Allie Keel, Breandan Conyers, Caragh (Hollis) Hankins, Callie Conyers, Corbett Conyers, and two great-grandchildren, Athena Keel and Colleen Hankins.
The family would like to thank the staff of Mountain Meadows Nursing and Rehab for the excellent care they provided.
The family will have a memorial service at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his honor to the Humane Society of Independence County, 5 Environmental Drive, Batesville, AR 72501.
