Jennifer Crumby (pictured above, center, with Midland Superintendent Toby Crosby, left, and Citizens Bank’s Jennifer Warden, right), a first-grade teacher at Midland Elementary, was named last week to receive the February Citizens Bank “Shine Like a Mustang” Award.

Citizens Bank said in a media release that Crumby’s dedication and supportive nature shine through her work every day and is a valuable and uplifting presence.

Her colleagues said:

  • “Jennifer has an amazing Mustang Spirit! She has high expectations for her students and herself. If I ever need a pick-me-up, I go to Jennifer to lift my spirits with her shining presence.”
  • “Ms. Crumby has been a great asset to our school and for her first-grade classroom. She always lends a helping hand and is full of love and hugs.”
  • “Ms. Crumby goes above and beyond on a daily basis to provide not only the educational needs of her students, but also the physical and emotional needs. She approaches all challenges with love. She supports her fellow teachers and has become that “go-to” person for all of us. She very much shines like a mustang!”
  • “Jennifer has such a heart for meeting all the needs of students. She is an incredible co-worker and is always willing to do whatever anyone needs done!”
  • “She is always so encouraging to her students and her love for them is evident. She is a great team player and always willing to help her coworkers. She’s a strong member of our team!”
  • “Jennifer goes above and beyond in every way. She is always positive, bringing energy to everyone around her. Her willingness to help others is evident and consistently goes out of her way to support colleagues and students. We are blessed to work with someone who makes a positive impact.”

With this program, Citizens Bank and Midland School District aim to recognize staff members who shine in their role as Mustangs and live out the district’s vision to engage learning at high levels and embrace challenges without fear of failure. Staff nominate the award recipients, who receive a Certificate of Excellence, a $25 gift card, and a 16-ounce insulated cup from Citizens Bank. The award is presented at the Midland School Board meeting each month.
