Kamie Jenkins (pictured), Southside Charter High School basketball standout, has earned national recognition as a member of the Evangel University Valor Women’s Basketball Team in Springfield, Missouri.
The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) released the 2024-25 Daktronics Winter Sports Scholar-Athletes list this week, and Jenkins was recognized for her hard work in the classroom, according to a release.
To be selected for this honor, student-athletes must achieve at least a 3.5 cumulative grade point average (GPA) at their institution. In order to be nominated by an institution’s sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, appear on the eligibility certificate for the sport, and have attended one full year at said institution.
