Obituary: Wanda Lee (Eddington) Tims Eagan

Wanda Lee (Eddington) Tims Eagan, 88, of Jonesboro, departed this life on February 17, 2025. She was born in Pocahontas on February 27, 1936, to Joseph and Cora (Whittenburg) Eddington.

Wanda was a woman of grace, kindness, and unwavering dedication. She found joy in arts and crafts, working in her flower garden, canning, sewing, and decorating. She had a keen eye for beauty and a heart that delighted in creating and sharing with others. Helping people was her true calling, and she never hesitated to lend a hand, whether with a project or a kind word of encouragement.

Her work ethic was unmatched. Wanda dedicated many years to the billing office at the hospital until her retirement. Her dedication extended beyond her career into her faith, as she was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Tuckerman, where she served as the church secretary until the age of 84. Her faith was her foundation, and she lived with kindness, generosity, and love each day.

Above all, Wanda was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend. Her warmth and unwavering support will be deeply missed, but the love she shared will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Meridth Time; her son, Roger Tims; her brothers, Franklin Eddington, Elmer Whittenburg, Gardner Eddington, Ted Eddington, and Raymond Eddington; her sisters, Iva Bullard, Ida Spicer, Arzella Triplett, Imogene Eddington; her first husband, Charles E. Tims; and her second husband, Jerry Eagan.

She is survived by her son, Eddie Tims and wife Deana of Newport; her daughters, Sherry Smith and husband Benny of Newport and Terry Hodges and husband Tim of Jonesboro; her grandchildren, Kevin McGinnis and wife Marlana of Panama City Beach, Florida, Ethan McGinnis and wife Breanna of Jonesboro, Weston Smith of Newport, Lyndi Layman and husband Mark of Jonesboro, Warren Smith of Jonesboro, Eric Tims of Tuckerman; her great-grandchildren, Lillie Layman of Jonesboro, Charley McGinnis of Jonesboro, Kaden McGinnis of Fayetteville,, Cameron McGinnis of Fayetteville: and a lifetime of friends.

Service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 25, 2024, at Dillinger Funeral Home Chapel.  Visitation will be from 1:00 until service time.  The interment will be at Gracelawn Cemetery.
