Scottie Ghuyrane Parmer Jr., 70, of Oil Trough, passed from this life on February 22, 2025. He was born in Newport on October 3, 1954, to Scottie G. Parmer Sr. and Mary Anderson Parmer.

Scotty was a man of faith, a devoted member of the Church of Christ in Olyphant, and a dedicated servant to his community. He proudly served on the Oil Trough City Council, always striving to make a difference.

An avid outdoorsman, Scotty found great joy in fishing, deer hunting, and golfing. He also had a deep love for sports, passionately supporting the L.A. Lakers, Arkansas Razorbacks, and St. Louis Cardinals. Whether on the water, in the woods, or watching his favorite teams, he embraced life with enthusiasm.

Scotty worked at C & C Distributing since 1977, where he was a valued and respected employee for nearly five decades. His dedication and work ethic were unmatched, and he took great pride in his career.

Above all, Scotty was a devoted husband, married to the love of his life for 43 years. He was also a loving father, brother, grandfather, uncle, and friend. His warm heart, unwavering kindness, and sense of humor left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.

Though he is no longer with us, Scotty’s love, laughter, and legacy will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his nephews, Andrew Hannah and Colin Hannah.

He is survived by his wife, Lesa Parmer of the home; his son, Jeremy Scot Parmer and wife Kim of Jonesboro; his daughter, Megan Cook Davis and husband Weldon of Bradford; his grandchildren, Lofton Davis, Pearce Davis, Logan Morris, and Lilykay Morris; his sisters, Deborah Parmer Jarrett and husband Dennis of Newark, Becky Hannah and husband Frank of Newport and Katy Dobson of Oil Trough; his aunt Linda Anderson Raborn of Bradford, who was like a mother after Mary passed and her daughter Leslie who shared her mother with him; his aunts, Beth Robinson of Bradford, Judy Mayfield of Russell; and a host of nieces, nephews and loved ones.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

Celebration of Life Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at Oil Trough Community Center.
